Review: Coca-Cola Creations Y3000

Coca-Cola Creations is a line of zero sugar, mysteriously flavored colas that apparently exists to try to get whatever generation loves TikTok to buy not just soda, but merchandise. And because of course, Coca-Cola has a Creations flavor inspired by the future and formulated with the help of AI.
According to the Coca-Cola website, “Y3000 Zero Sugar was co-created with human and artificial intelligence by understanding how fans envision the future through emotions, aspirations, colors, flavors and more.” Yeesh. Reads like the information page was co-created with AI, too. Further proof that AI has replaced Coca-Cola’s copywriters appears later in the same paragraph, where the flavor is described as “unique”.
Fittingly for a flavor designed by something that has no sense of taste and is also blandly derivative, Y3000 is in no way “unique”. It literally just tastes like Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla. It’s so very representative of AI’s ability for innovation—to mash up the two most popular things and call it a day—that it’s almost laughable, except for the fact that AI is not-so-slowly taking over all jobs that have to do with innovation and creativity.
The Verdict
As usual, just drink a regular-ass Coke Zero.
Other Coca-Cola Creations include “Movement” and “Dreamworld” (see my full review here), as well as a K-Pop inspired flavor called “K-Wave”.
Coca-Cola Creations has a flavor co-created with AI called “Y3000”. Does it taste as dumb as it sounds?
